NTAP is one crazy stock: 130, 45, 140, 45, and now its trading in a narrower range, but who knows, it could go to 130 again and back to 45 again!

re: NTAP's "triple bottom...If it can't make it twice why should it make it on the third time? Doesn't mean it's not tradable just suspect as a candidate

Well put... and the fact that the gaps in the ntap chart and high P/E are so summarily dismissed, gives every reason to hold off on any "ltbh" for now<gg> The bullish sentiment on this stock is still so thick you could cut it with a knife. NOBODY believes it could break down. That's not good.

All those 3-400% paper gains people mention could disappear in a matter of days with one less than perfect report from the company, or the sector for that matter... good thing for the splits<g> It doesn't mean that it won't come back either. I think it will. I just watched alot of paper "millionares" bragging about their wealth on SI early in the year 2000, and now they are so humbled, and not so "wealthy" back at day jobs.

Just looking at the chart, every indicator is in a long term downtrend, especially relative strength and acc/dist. The gap in the high 20's falls right in the long term trading channel starting Oct 98. It also looks like a big Sym. Triangle in a downtrend is being drawn. These usually break to the norm... which is down right now...also real struggles with the 50dma lately shows weakness.

I guess you just gots to believe?<g>(edit)but there is a BIG difference between now and 1998. Alot of infrastructure has been built out already. Yes there is still alot more to come, but the economy, and specifically the corporate and private debt situation, is in a much different place now. Growth should be much slower than before going forward here, and the money just won't be available for building out because of the credit expansion. Many people just do not want to accecpt this possibility.

I'm with you Greg..I know nothing. Just watch it break out to new highs now I said all that<ggg> I just think at least one of those gaps will fill, then the long term uptrend will continue. I ask myself, how will this stock be in the dog days of the market that come after april 30? In the last three years this stock goes sideways or down around that April time.

Best Regards,

John
