TJ had four National Merit Semi-finalists from Loudoun County. TJ is a magnet school - and last year had 207 National Merit Semi-finalists! It is a fantastic public school, but very competitive. Ben was in the first cut but didn't make the second cut. Just as well because he doesn't like to work as hard as TJ kids do. The school Ben and Nick attend now has the International Baccalaureate degree, and is quite successful in college placement. It may well be that Georgetown Prep is better than the best Fairfax Public Schools, but it costs $15,500 a year. fcps.k12.va.us
