My ears thank you. I am taking them to bed now.

Good morning, X.

This thread was the last thing I thought of last night and the first thing I thought of this morning. What a sorry state of affairs.

First, last night. I had worn my new Thorlos yesterday. After I had shut down the computer, way past my bedtime, I removed my socks and did a double-take. The skin on my arches was a lovely shade of...battleship gray. Quite lovely. I guess I should have washed the socks before wearing them.

Then, this morning. I use the alarm feature on my TV to wake up to the local news (NBC). As I was straining to open one eye, then the other, I found myself listening to a report on the transition vandalism. It was saying that the extent of the vandalism of the Clinton plane was limited to missing towels and something else, napkins maybe, with a total value of $140 and that the White House was not pursuing the matter. I looked on their web site for the details but didn't find it.

The Washington Post has finally reported on the subject:

washingtonpost.com

And the Washington Times:
