Paul,

AMD has maxed out on clock speed.

They introed a 1.2 GH ThumperTURD iN October of last year and only now - three months late - is it getting into production.

Let me just remind you that Intep P6 maxed out on clock speed in March on 2000, and has been banging it's head against the concrete ceiling ever since.

AMD K7 core is at 1.2 GHz now and has 2 revision of the present core on the immediate roadmap - lower power Palomino in Q1 and Q2 and .13u version to be introduced between Q4 2001 to Q3 2002.

These 2 revision will keep it competitive with P4 and a few steps ahead of P6.

Joe
