Such huge drops in Naz individual stocks in pre-market, yet futures only down 45? I'm assuming there was a big drop from 4:00-4:15 PM yesterday (although I thought PMCS news came out later)..otherwise, I'm stumped why they are not down more...

Lee- Since you brought it up :)

Per yesterday's cc, QCOM is comfortable with $1.27 for FY 01 ending in Sept. Their book to bill is way north of 1 and this qtr's chip shipments are capacity constrained at 16M. They took the hit for the G* write off. Things are looking very good for qcom, and i would expect volatility to decrease. Downside risk now is much reduced to strong demand for 1x upgrades and phones in the coming year.
Any moves into the 60s is a definite buy.

According to Dr. Jacobs, China news may occur in the Spring. For those that listen to the FUD stating since there are 70M existing GSM subs in China, why would they change to 1x?, must realize that 1x has 10 times the capacity of GSM and will do data at 300kbs next year. China is basically a greenfield buildout and it would be simply idiotic for them to buildout anything but cdma! This is a fact.

As I have said before, any sort of China infra awards announced in the spring will drive this stock, as well as nokia signing a 3G license.
