Mark:

Well at least EB confined his "hard landing" and "tough outlook for all of 2001as a result of slowing telecom and IT spending" remarks to the 3Com networking business. Any other CEO/Chairman would have said how well his company was positioned for an anticipated second half 2001 recovery, but not EB. OTOH his remarks on the rapidly expanding demand for handheld Palm type devices as compared with the slowing demand for PC's were a positive for Palm. Overall a double edged sword I'd say. Good job I have a lot more PALM than COMS, but my good feeling about my renewed COMS positions lasted just 24 hours.

Oh well, bring on the FOMC next week and a full 1/2 point panic cut by AG & Co., who have now apparently completely abandoned their Maginot line defense against the non-existent enemy of inflation.
