You may not know this but Prague in the mid 90's became the place to go for Americans in their 20's who thought they were "very kewl" and had pretensions of being writers. However, I think things "cooled down" as Prague became more expensive. I really look forward to seeing it and the villages not far from it.

Yes, I am very familiar with it. I actually go there more often now that I live several thousand miles away than when I was a kid, and it was only a couple of hundred miles away from my house when I was a kid. As a kid, being in the city and looking at old buildings are very low on the list of priorities, far lower than hiking in the mountains, swimming, or skiing etc.
