UF, no I have not decided to sell. Yes, am LTBHer. Am long NTAP for >1 yr.

But I am dismayed by market gains made by EMC at expense of competitors including NTAP and can't figure why you're not concerned.

... In the small yet fast-growing market for network attached storage, or NAS, which gives companies quick access to frequently used files, leader Network Appliance Inc.'s market share slipped to 48.6 percent in 2000 from 49 percent a year earlier.

I'll admit the slippage isn't much, but is troublesome since is only niche product to EMC but central to NTAP's existence. That's why its stock got hammered, I believe.

Bambs and Chic drive me to distraction. That's why I had to come here and visit elsewhere.

>>ntap's earnings will be issued on 2/8

Are you sure? My usually reliable source has it on 2/13.

Nice post, Unc.

I'm not too ltb&h anymore but I think its a good policy. I am long PALM in my IRA anyway....and maybe I'll hold to some of my NTAP in my KEOGH. I think it's a good policy, if you are totally absorbed in other things. But it can drive you crazy if you watch the market! <g>

But more power to you--you've kept your philosophy and wavered very little, and have done quite well
