I have posted my views on navigation buttons many times.

They shouldn't be spread out over the active area, it should require the least amount of movement to click on any given button.

You don't need me to tell you how to do it. Just go back and look at the original design. What has been done now is akin to putting the turn indicator control in the back seat, the brake in the passenger compartment and the driver in trunk.

I sincerely give up. You will not hear one more complaint from me about the UI again.

There is one person who works for SI who you could go to as a consultant for these things. You should use him.

scott

"a request by users"

warning! scott is beginning to speak like si management!

that kills me, it really does. you guys do whatever you damn well please, and this includes IGNORING membership when you don't like what we are saying, and listening when you do!

where were all these requests from users for these changes? don't tell me, they were sent to you in pm's. man, we have had entire threads here on si devoted to keeping things the way they are, and si bumbled forward without paying us any mind.

"a request by users". please.

:)

... Do you think the respond on an individual message should remain outside of the box on an individual message? ...

Yes, it should remain.

:-)

It should remain where it was.
It should remain how it was.
It should simply remain.

(You know, like the Calvin Klein fragrance ads: "To be or not to be?" and then "Just be.")

... any on <sic> else that has an opinion on the location of the respond and view replies please let me know.

They should also remain where they were unless a useful new feature really requires adjusting them.

Daniel

The Next, etc., links should not be right-justified--they move around for those messages that are wider than the usual box width, possibly requiring one to scroll the window just to go to the next message.

Those links should be on the left where they don't move (WHERE THEY WERE for years).

Also, the "View Next 10 Messages" link doesn't need to be so long. We don't have "_View_ Next" and "_View_ Previous". (And NO, you shouldn't add "View" to every link.)

the view 10 messages page was a request by users

No way Scott, we requested, begged, and pleaded to be allowed to keep the BrowseMaster auto download function that was available for Classic. The view 10 was a very poor substitute.

There were many promises, bur never any follow thru

Don't get me started.....

Fred

The location of "respond" and "view replies" in the 10-message mode is fine. However there are at least 2 important problems remaining:

1) "ignored user" messages are not being ignored at all in the 10-message mode.

2) PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE fix the way-oversized fonts.
