Random thoughts:

A year ago when the ETEK merger was complete, the DOJ approval came 6 days before the shareholder vote: 6/22/00 and 6/28/00. If that holds out in the SDLI merger, we could get approval some time next week. However, in that case the timing between approval and shareholder vote may have been shortened because of need to proceed with SDLI negotiations. (Outlined in SEC docs last summer.) In the JDSU/OCLI merger, they passed DOJ on 12/22/99 and set meeting for 1/25/00, almost a month advance notice. With their JDSFitel merger, they announced DOJ approval on 5/25/99 and set vote date for 6/28/99, over a month advance notice. If these are more standard time frames, then it's possible we'll be an approval announcement during tomorrow's JDSU CC.

Welcome other thoughts.
