Eric,

Thanks for clarifying the market scope for the Qualcomm MSM5200 chipset. The required multi-modes for Europe will add additional delay to their development and deployment. The W-CDMA 5200 now looks to similar to the 5000 in that it served its purpose to allow initial deployment, but large market acceptance will have to wait for the next generation chip.

5000 was first 1X chip for Korea, widescale acceptance will come with the multimedia 5105 (due in phones this summer).

5200 is first W-CDMA chip and has multimedia, but widescale acceptance will come with GSM multimode.

Given that Qualcomm has announced sampling of its 5200 chip in the June quarter, whose chip do you feel will be in the DoCoMo trial system phones in May?
