Thanks Uncle...I kind of feel the same way....my problem with CC writing right now is most of my stuff is way underwater. I am hesiatant to write cc's on anything I hope to hold for the long haul ( qcom, jdsu and etc....)...Recent purchases are more value plays then anything, so am gonna let most stuff ride. believe it or not, I did great with the extr thing. Exited yesterday with a 45-50% gain for about 3 or 4 weeks....not as nice as the 125% I got on those way otm jdsu march 110's for a week or two, but I wont knock 45-50% in a month anyday...not after last year. I did write Jan 02 100's on my rmbs....I figured I'd take the very nice premium and just tuck the shares away....worry about it in october or december...normally, I wouldnt write that far out, but since I am so underwater on rmbs, I figured what the hell...I wasnt planning on selling, didnt want to go month to month because I would have had to go with much lower strikes and IF rmbs runs, i dont want to be faced with the stock being called for a loss or having to roll up....I felt $9 - $10 was decent for the 100's, so i wrote em....I do hold some may 75 rmbs calls...I guess I willhold and hope rmbs wins some lawsuits or settles and lets me get out without too much of a loss...right now the calls are down like a zillion % from where I bought them. Lastly.....did you not start up the porch? If so, can we not add a portfolio of sorts that comes up at bottom of screen and include our favorite porch stocks and others that folks request? If so, that would be cool......have agreat weekend

Uncle Frank What is wrong in buying all of the ntap you can afford and sell out of the money 30-60-90 day covered calls. If the stock gets taken -so what- rebuy and sell more calls. The volatility has introduced unbelievable call premiums. Worst case is if ntap tanks. Long term [which i am] says sit tight and when the next peak comes just repeat the process. If you lose - the stock gets taken. If you win -just be patient until it comes back. This whole storage area is so predictable that there is very little risk medium term and I think great returns are to be made by intelligently managing the volatility. Your thoughts are appreciated.
