I did notice it. Then I checked JDSU's PE with a "N/A" and had about a comparable market value as QCOM's. I felt relieved and forgot about it. :-)

Salami and Baloney (Salomon Smith Barney) issued a price target of $110 for QCOM as of today.

Don't believe they covered Q* before.

Where did you see that high a number? Must be based on reported EPS and not the pro-forma EPS. SI's pro-forma numbers are in line with other consensus forward estimates I've seen:

Based on today's $81 close, actual trailing earnings of $1.05 for FY 2000 (ended 9/00) result in a P/E of 77, and estimated forward earnings of $1.26 for FY 2001 result in a P/E of 64. High, but not not unreasonably high.
