Ah, Constant Reader, I'm all for free speech, too. But I was not talking about JLA's thread ("reserved exclusively for people of like mind"), but about SI political threads in general. Sorry for the confusion. I just used JLA's comment as a jumping-off point, or springboard, to bring up something that has bugged me for some years, during which I have visited quite a few "non-exclusive" political threads. In fact, the exclusive (moderated)threads are a recent innovation (with the exception of the Roger Babb stock threads). jbe
