John - that I don't know. As an occasional hotmail user I get pretty spotty coverage. Based on the frequency of problems, I suspect most of the issues are in the application itself, not the underlying database or hardware. As anyone who has followed my musings knows, I don't believe that MSFT is at anywhere near the level of enterprise competence that Sun has today. That is hardly a unique opinion. But it is possible to build highly reliable systems using MSFT products - it just takes a little thought and care, something that is not routinely applied by MSFT customers. It is more a cultural thing than a technology issue.
