NO WAY am I buying a 16 year old a BMW <vbg>

I'm looking for something cheap that I don't need to put collision on, as his insurance will be over $3500 a YEAR for a new driver with his own car w/collision coverage.
And we all know there WILL be collisions <vbg>

Ridiculous, as I pay less than $1000 a year for my Jeep Grand Cherokee, which is less than 3 years old....and he has to pay rates like this until he's 25? Sad, as it means every bit of his paycheck will go to insurance and gas money. Well, maybe that's a good thing <g>
