Books and Articles

in the Introduction to this thread. Please look through them marketgems.com marketgems.com

BOOKS

► Toni Turner's A Beginner's guide to Day Trading Online

► Technical Analysis of Financial Markets by Murphy (Anything you read by Murphy will be excellent)

► Tools and Tactics for the Master Day Trader (especially part II as we use these strategies) by Velez and Capra

► Beyond Candlesticks : More Japanese Charting Techniques Revealed by Steve Nison(I have the first, now I read only the second, its more attuned to the high flying stocks)

► Getting Started in Technical Analysis
by Jack D. Schwager (great beginner's book, shows some of the unexpected turns your trade can make)

► Trader Vic--Methods of a Wall Street Master

► How to Make Money in Stocks: A Winning System In Good Times or Bad by William O'Neil (Should be a prerequisite for anyone trading their own account)

One I like after you've read at least 2 of the above:

Technical Analysis of Stock Trends by Edwards and Magee (only for diehards)

No trendy books, no books on trading systems utilizing complicated formulas or varieties of indicators.. no books in mail order from newspapers costing $100 or more, I get most of them, I chuck most of them. You need a solid foundation than you can choose the next phase for experience... and nothing can teach you better than 'hands on' trading and training in a comfortable professional atmosphere either on your own or with fellow traders, or both. Only YOU can choose what works for you, experiment, browse, take free trials that are offered, trade part time, use your pagers, e-mail it doesn't matter, there is no ONE way to trade.
