Bigger reason is Mercedes in Europe, while enjoying terrific stature over the years, is also viewed as a taxi...p.s. I've owned all the cars mentioned and can tell you that best in terms of quality/performance overall is the BMW...Europeans love their Audis, but the bad rap in the US has cost yrs of disdain...personally love my Porsche, but the X5 is built to last and has more creature comforts than you could imagine.

I love my Audi. Just an A4 but the Engineering is marvelous. Everything is where it should be, fits well, car drives smooth. Prior to this I had the predescessor Audi 80 for 10 years and it never caused me any problems.

I am sold on Audi's

Regards

Neil

In the last 10 years I've owned one of each....the Audi was junk, the MB was a passengers car....and the back seats were like iron....terrible......reliability was average....

THe BMW went nearly 250k and never even needed an alignment....It ran and ran and ran some more. It was the best car I've ever owned for a driver that pounds a car and runs high miles.
