This module is made using a high-density 32Bit DRAM Chip.

To use this module, your motherboard must be able to accept more than a total of 1024MB where each individual memory slot can accept a 512MB DIMM.
If not, your system may not function or may only recognize the chip as 128MB.

Tony - Your motherboard only recognizes a chip with a maximum of 128.

I had the same thing happen with one of my computers - popped it in and it only recognized 128. I then put it in a newer computer and it saw the whole 256.

The only option is to get two 128 chips if you want 256
