Yeah. I saw that registry edit reference at zdnet.com

and others but those guys say the Control Panel can do the job. Aaaannnnnndd, I tiptoe real lightly around registry edits.

If it should turn out to be a bad or missing cable connection, the investigation was still fun and we'll all get to laugh in relief that it was something simple.
