Hi Dealer: Your numbers for PE got me goin'... so, I decided to look about a little and FWIW, here's what I found re QCOM's PE...

E-Trade data shows 85.7 (price on trailing twelve months earnings)
WSJ/Market Guide shows 83.68
Similar to your Signal number, SI shows 586.96... (this is nuts and seems to be calculated using a way old earnings number...)

Well, then, I went to this link on SI:

siliconinvestor.com

and calculated the PE using FY2000 (ending 9/2000)Earnings of 1.05 and current price of 81 and got a PE of 77.14.

That's more like it I think... guess some published PE numbers are victim of the old GIGO (garbage in, garbage out)syndrome. Cheers

In this instance, your source just had a mis-print or something....no biggie....I saw the 500+ number and knew it couldn't be right so i didnt freak and sell my shares or anything<ggg>

have a great day.. Keith
