Rick, ouch & thanks. You are playing the role I have played professionally for years when unfortunately necessaary needed - the knight of mirrors. I've actually learned (perhaps too little) from listening to you and Miljenko. You both started tossing up red flags about ISIP & it soon tanked, and a lot of upper mgmt spin doctoring was revealed. Stayed away from LGND because of the dilution & spin doctoring and you were a real contributor to that decision. Thanks again. Does not take an incredible IQ to apply you comments to VICL. Guess that means I'll need to re-assess, as while some biotech vets have posted on the thread, I see what you mean about the lack of scientists. I do still appreciate the lack of hype & dilution on the part of VICL mgmt. Perhaps I placed tooo much dependance on the DD of their partners. And as I think about it, while this is a valuation thread, I've looked at the size of the applications for their preventatives, but not on the potential revenue from the partnerships if the vaccines reach commercialization.

So, again, ouch & thanks. Scott

(or I could happily go into denial and assume you were just talking about ISIP & some others;)

In the words of Tom Wait, "the piano has been drinking..."

<< I've learned my lessons about bad-mouthing high-profile companies, and do it very selectively now. >>
Well, many of these companies are not high profile anymore (both ISIP and LGND) come to my mind.
This and related threads do provide a wonderful source of unbiased information for informed investors. I do not have the scientific background to differentiate good science from questionable one, so I limit my Biotech investing to the universe of companies that are discussed here. Its not replacement for doing my own research and diligence but its does provide a good insurance against being caught in questionable stocks. Without access to this quality information, i wouldn't invest in Biotechs at all.
