Didn't see the Barron's article, but I suppose it expected a continued shift toward an increasing use of AL on a % basis for cars.

Still a large part of production (maybe 50%) is construction and cars which can be expected to see considerable softness in the next couple of years ...

I expect Auto production and construction in the states to slow -- don't know world-wide -- something important to know is how much made here is consumed here -- I would suspect the lion's share -- Have several reports on my desk at work, but they are somewhat dated ... I expect the can segment will continue to grow. In a recession folks are apt to give up another new car, but not another can of their favorite beverage <ggg>
