cfoe and everyone,

Through PM, someone pointed to me that I made the mistake in assuming that all CDMA handset ASIC sales were from Qualcomm. I was wrong, and my calculation was off.

I would like to ask you to help me with the following questions.

1) What is Q's market share in handset ASICs today?

According the the post by Webster:
Message 15259401
Nokia sold 1.9 million chipset last quarter for an 8% CDMA market share, which means that the CDMA chip sales was 23.75 million for the last quarter. Q's 15 million will only be a 63% of the market share. This number is a lot less than I would expect.

2) Is there anyone besides Mot/Nokia/Intel making CDMA handset ASICs right now?

3) On ASICs, Mot doesn't pay any royalty. Is Nokia under the same contract as Motorola?

4) I vaguely remember that Q gets about 10% royalty on handset ASIC sales by anyone besides Lucent and Motorola. Is this number correct?

I am trying to do a calculation for Q's earning for the 2nd half of this fiscal year, any help would be greatly appreciated.
