My personal opinion is a .5 cut would be pragmatic, and I don't think it'll send equities flying like the first cut. Perhaps the COMP would get up to the 3000-3100 area before doing some retracing, but I don't think it'll go nuts

I'm with you on this one kiddo. The steady stream of layoff announcements and Greenies statements to the Senate regarding the stalled economy convinced me we'd see .5% Maintaining employment as high as possible without inflation is the Fed's mandate. There is no inflation now, only layoffs. +.8% ECI gives one pause however.
