Your 'real life example' is exactly the digital path I have landed upon. I have a full fledged darkroom in my basement that has been gathering dust for a few years as I was heavily into 'photography' from beginning to end. I haven't bought a roll of 'real 35mm film' in over two years and my friends and family are overjoyed to see me with my digital camera at an function since they know that within a day they can view the images and/or order copies from their computers. I can't say that this will become the norm yet I can report that I am pleased with where the digital photography age has brought me....

Thanks the anecdotal evidence, as it were. Great story.

I guess I am and always will be partial to analog. There are a great many audiophiles still who love their LPs. I just happen to be a photophile, if there is such a thing.
