For all the folks who didn't read Eric's post of the Curmudgeon thread, the following seems to be an earnings warning from Silverback Cisco:

quote.bloomberg.com

Speaking of Cisco <sigh>, some of you may remember discussion of their downgrade by CIBC a few weeks ago, which had the titillating title of "Gorilla Game or Innovator's Dilemma?". At the time, I commented,

Do you get the impression that Steve Kamman is a student of the Gorilla Game? If so, I'd be interesting in knowing what discontinuous innovation he feels constitutes a substitution threat to IOS, which is at the heart of Cisco's primate nature. He seems to be focused on hardware, which is more appropriate to Christensen's world view.

I've now had the opportunity to read the report, and while it is a comprehensive and somewhat chilling collection of well known criticisms of Cisco, there is little original in it, and nothing at all to indicate that Kamman has any insights into the Gorilla Game or has even read it for that matter. He punctuates his predictions with several quotes from Christensen's Innovator's Dilemma, and refers to the mythical "law of large numbers" for emphasis, but doesn't address Cisco from the perspective of the Gorilla Game at all. I would guess that the title was chosen solely as an attention grabber.

Cabal -- "conspiratorial group of plotters"

LOL! Yes that pretty well sums up my impression of the European GSM monopoly gang.

And yes they will feel pressured by pure Q technology successes around the world.
