Richnorth, Many small tourist contries have dollarised, is use US dollars as official currency. The US does nit like it, but cab do little about it.
It saves the small country the trouble of printing money, tourists bring it in for free and as long as they run their operation in such a way as to accumulate US$ they are ahead. This often means loose morals stuff, like Cuba in the 50's with legalised cheap booze, gambling and hookers galore....surprise it works.

If you could manipulate the price of anything why would you force it down? The conspiracy theory doesn't make any sense. "They" are buying US assets because they have provided the best way to preserve purchasing power of THEIR currencies not the US $. Gifts create enemies at all levels.
