When Al was counselling one of his players, a junior who was being offered a million dollar plus pro deal, he sadly recommended that the kid take the money. He said he had taken the refrigerator test which was to look at his fully stocked one and compare that with the kids families virtually empty one and concluded that the kid should take the money. Al was a unique and special man. He will be missed mostly by the people who are too young to have been touched by him. Hopefully a sub will appear one day.
