Venkster, the download time depends not only on your cable modem but the speed of the modem you're downloading from.

I played around w/ napster at a friend's house, it was kewl. You can get all kinds of stuff that's hard to find on CDs. If you're on, people can download from you too.

There are lots of online radio stations too that are fun listening to. Did you know?

internetradiolist.com

You can listen to live radio from all over the world

Napster is GREAT ! My daughter showed it to me and I have been downloading some of today's strangest music so I can burn CD's for her. She has now showed me an MP3 and CD player so that I can burn a MP3 CD (which will hold 100 songs and she can play it on her player. (The problem with regular MP3 players is the cost of the memory (sorry sndk).

Yesterday I downloaded every Canned Heat song ever recorded and a bunch of Cole Porter (everything is on Napster).

I understand that the new version of EZ CD has a conversion program so you can take your MP3 files and make regular CD's so they will play in your car. Can you friggin' imagine drivin' your Porsche on those turns with Canned Heat's On the Road Again blasting?? !!

Also, she just taught me yesterday that you can even play the song while you are downloading it - wow - takes me about 2 minutes with a DSL to download most songs - learn how to adjust the settings to not even show you songs where the uploader has a modem. T3's are the quickest for uploads - DSL next - cable downloads fast but is slow on the upload - avoid them too.

Have a blast - I have also heard that one should not perpetually upgrade Napster software because they are progressively upgrading it so that we will soon have to pay for downloads unless we have the OLD software.
