Ish,

It should not surprise you, I don't pay too much attention to them anymore. I was hoping after last Saturday that Bill at least would be moving towards becoming a memory.

On the surface it looks like its going to be difficult to avoid addressing some of this recent news. Hillary still has to show up for her new job, so the press and her limelight will be waiting. It sure looks like they bought some votes and even some of their media lapdogs are going to want some answers.

I just wish the whole Clinton saga would end. The Bush story is so much more interesting to me because it has the potential to bring positive change. That is what I am most interested in embracing.

I can look the other way on the White House stupidity. I will not attempt to minimize or spin it...as some would do. Rather I choose to see it as yet another example of poor character and violation of good principles. It really matters not if $500 or $50,000 is the actually cost. Its the fact that the ugly tone and nature of the action displays a basic disrespect for both the high office and its new management -g-

I am certain that when Bush Senior departed in 92 there were a few tokens of jest. I also think it is safe to assume that the vast majority were done in good humor and with little lasting impact.

It is my hope that if someone really gets interested in hunting a Clinton, that they commit to it and finish the job. All too often it seems that the great sins of the Clinton get a surface treatment from the press, then fade as soon as the next big story pops. Where are those guys from the Post? What we need is for someone to take on the task and make Bill keep looking back at them and saying, "who are those guys".

Given all the crowing in some circles that Clinton would depart from the time-honored tradition of ex-Presidents keeping a fairly low profile and would not hesitate to be actively critical of the new administration as he personally saw fit (and expedient), this entire "pardon" fiasco is actually the best possible thing that could have happened.

Slick has clammed up since the pardon controversy?

Not exactly, I heard that when was asked about the pardons, he replied, "I don't have to answer that, I'm not the President any more."
