Gersh, Peter and Ground,
I haven't figured the surplus? out yet. Social security inflows and outflows are included in the budget. Is not budgeted interest on the total debt not that only held by the public? Somewhere that has to be a detailed breakdown?
What ever is going on the total debt is still near its all time high. publicdebt.treas.gov
