I really think that the country risk of Zambia is overdone. Canadians are unnecessarily paranoid about Africa. Zambia has been independent since 1964, it has never had an army coup or revolution. The judicial system is based on the British system, the judges wear those ridiculous white wigs in court. There is a multi party democracy. They have just reprivatised the copper mines after 30 years of nationalisation that was a failure and they realise that privatisation is the way to go with the country retaining a 10% interest. Their physical location is not good, but I don't think that Britain or South Africa would stand for an invasion of Zambia. The copper is too crucial for the worlds economy.
