Candlesticks don't work, Monty. You should know that. The line from on high was that they were useless, that traders eyeball them and don't test them. 'Throw up a shooting star in Metastock and test it, and see whether it works, blah, blah, blah.'

Nevertheless (and this is off the record), there are some beautiful shorting patterns tonight with candlesticks.

Shorting wasn't encouraged, either, btw.

Go figure.

Monty, I assure you I have no hidden agenda and I was not after a bite, heck I couldn’t make any sense at all about who did what to who and when...it felt like I was reading a murder mystery but someone had torn out the murder chapter from my copy. As a result of a PM to make sense of it all you were mentioned as being a very experienced and knowledgeable trader. As I am ever the student I was interested in your experience with MA's...simple as that. Yes I know a little about MA's but I use them as a secondary means when trying to determine the trend, incidentally I display them over a candlestick chart which I don't understand (I just prefer them over bar charts :)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I would be interested in learning how you use MACDs in determining overbought/oversold conditions.
