Mark, Yes hydropower in western dams is tied closely to crop growing requirements- You have to keep that in mind. Yank too much water out of storage now in order to assist California's lack of generation capacity, and then you might short the crops later in the growing season (Prewatering starts shortly for summer crops out in the Southwest)...
