I think the larger drug companies are good investments. The search for a drug needs a myriad of technologies. I don't see the major pharmaceutical companies of the world being displaced easily at all. Is 12% a year, plus a dividend, plus selling calls along the way, a la Jay Chen, so bad? Suppose that's a total of 15%. Compounded for a decade that's a quadruple. Imagine having four times your present capital. Acceptable,eh.?

Next new things: Economy and demand pull inflation chill (NNT = more of the last new thing, ie a return to the techs and financials); or they don't (NNT = commodoties, stagflation, more market wreck and a mean recession).

Anyone care to venture an opinion re floors for the yen or the price of gold?
