Reynolds has also been hired by Rainbow/PUSH. He'll fit right in.

Surely it was a "personal matter".

Not just child molesting, but also bank fraud:

Marisol Reynolds, wife of former U.S. Representative Mel Reynolds, was indicted on nine counts of fraud, and testified in a federal courtroom that her husband abused her throughout their eleven-year marriage and coerced her into participating in his fraudulent activity.

>>The ex-congressman was first convicted in 1995 for having sex with an underaged
campaign worker (JET, Oct. 16, 1995). After he served two years of a five-year
sentence for the sex crimes, the former Rhodes scholar was convicted on federal
corruption charges, including bank fraud, wire fraud and election law violations.

Reynolds currently is in a federal correctional facility in South Carolina and has 35
months to serve on a six-and-a-half-year federal sentence.

The resolution is also urging clemency for Reynolds' wife, Marisol, who reportedly
lives on welfare with the couple's three children in Boston.<<

I don't know anything about Reynolds, but the fact that the above article was in Jet leads me to believe he is black, and I assume his victim is black, too? Alcee Hastings, the federal judge who was impeached for bribery, and is now a US Representative, is black, and of course Jesse Jackson, who used funds from the Rainbow Coalition for his mistress and illegitimate daughter, is black. Are black people in public office held to lower standards? Is this the black version of being a good old boy?
