MM,

You guys are great, no matter where I post you track me down. :)

No I haven't got a new computer yet, but since my girlfriend is taking the computer that I built for her, I think I am going to get another one for a back-up. The big decision is whether I build another one or order a Dell. I can't decide which is worse, actually having to put a new unit together or getting one which may or may not be customizable...but with the nice option of somebody coming out to fix it for me, so I can concentrate on trading...which is the reason I am going through this nightmare in the first place ! :)

I looked over the posts, and those links don't apply. I will check the dma setting in the bios, but it should be fine. This problem really came out of nowhere, with the exception that my ELNK DSL and dialup lines went down the day before I started having problems and is still not back up. I am using a AT&T dialup account now. But I set it up through Windows and did not install any additional software. Is there anyway that could be causing these problems? Seems farfetched.

Thanks,

Alex
