<ot>Hi David - re: FFIV, no, not much. At one time I contemplated in buying some of its stk. After all, CSCO bought ARPT and NT bought ATON at an extreme level. Then, I started look around, who would buy FFIV after two of the best were already bought out by two of the best <G>. And I realized FFIV probably got stuck between a rock and a hard place. If it stays independent, can it compete with 2 of the most competitive behemoths? If it chooses to go in bed with someone, who? Not LU. The Europeans may take a shot, but chances are they were thinking what I was thinking and lo balled the deal. And my portfolio was deterioriating fast, so I dropped the idea. I think it has decent customer base and if mkt rebounds, it may still worth being the last of the independent in this niche, but 1/2 a year is a long time in this kind of company. I may have to redo all the reseach all over again.

IMHO though, hope it will give you a perspective, if nothing else

best, Bosco

<ot>Hi Dave - just to follow up on your FFIV query, fwiw

Message 15267985

I think CSCO and NT will eat FFIV alive, unless the last finds a sugar daddy quick!

best, Bosco
