The recent problems are across the board. Everyone is getting hit. There are very few, if at all, that have escaped the onslaught.

So then the market accurately reflects deteriorating fundamentals, right?

I agree with you. Now however you are going to find that JCP has a good chance of making it. The Gap and the likes that cater to higher budget but not high enough are going to have in my opinion, lesser sales due to higher unemployment in the pseudo god industry.

The down note of all of this is in the closure of many stores less choice, eventually translates into higher price for the consumer.
