What do you sell Luther?,...I need a retail business like that. Businesses in our mall are saying January sales on average are down significantly, although many had good Decembers thanks to the five weekends in that month. Clothing stores are down double digits, some over 30%. The pharmacy is down, and the foodcourt is down 5-20%. The grocery stores are holding their own, and are very happy with Super Bowl weekend, but they say that profits are coming down as each is trying to undercut the others specials. Even the Wal-mart people say they are down over last year, and are hoping the end of month cheques give them a kick in the next few days. The auto people are crying big time.
The bookstore, kitchen store and all the gift stores are also down. The dollar store is up slightly. The beer store is up (ggggggggggggggg), perhaps because many of us are crying in our beer:-))
