Been doing some reading on liquidity trap. It's possible that the "velocity" of money has slowed, partially as a result of consumers retrenching. This would require additional liquidity.

Does anyone graph the activity of the fed, over say the past couple of decades?

Blasted, yet another indicator that can be looked at but not trusted. No doubt if such a graph existed, it wouldn't take into account blah blah blah.
