... and another new project will replace it and produce more than twice as much gold:

Australia's Delta sees Wallaby gold output at 390,000 oz in 2000-01
Sydney--Jan. 29--Australian gold producer Delta Gold Ltd. Monday said it expected its gold production from the Wallaby project in Western Australia to be about 390,000 ounces during financial year 2000-01 (July-June), following
the development of the deposit in the October-December quarter.

Gold production continues to look very firm, with relatively little change from firms who have reported fourth quarter so far. Nine firms show 3.36moz versus 2.85 in the 3rd quarter of 2000 versus 2.95moz in the fourth quarter of 99. These 9 firms did 11.7moz for 2000 versus 11.0moz in 1999, up 6%.
