re: CPN, there are a lot of new technological developments in power generation, but power companies have been slow to adapt them. It would make sense for Silicon Valley to take the lead here.

San Jose-based computer networking giant Cisco Systems Inc. (NasdaqNM:CSCO - news), the largest employer in San Jose, has sharply opposed the Metcalf project. It plans to build an office complex near the plant for 20,000 employees and is worried about the plant's possible health and safety effects.

There is a problem here. I assume Cisco will be running this plant using some electricity if not quite a bit. The electricity has to come from somewhere. I am not sure what health hazard Chambers was referring to but if there is a hazard, why does someone else living elsewhere have to put up with that hazard? Cisco wants the juice but wants others to suffer? I do not get this at all.
