California can't be much worse than British Columbia under its current regime, i rank it right down there with the seedier parts of Africa and Asia ... couldn't believe it when one little speckie i hold for a radio project made a deal on gold claims in the Cariboo, i just groaned oh gawd not here ... well for a stock promotion it doesn't matter so much, but try building a mine should you actually pull nice cores - forget it.

Square miles of forest have died to make the paper to print the BC Forest Practices Code with its amendments and the forms you have to fill out before passing wind within sight of timber ... you need a wheelbarrow to carry the basic rulebook around, no kidding.

First stock i ever held was a BC copper play, Giant Mascot Mines ... LBJ's excellent adventure in Indochina made copper go up, gave me a four-bagger and doomed me to a life of chasing the next one ... but that was then, before the urban folk decided to dominate the rest of us.

Political risk is a more accurate way to say it than country risk, it can vary so much within a nation ... the province of Québec is not so harsh on miners, for instance.
