I agree with that and believe most people will see it that way, as well. I wonder how far the opponents will go to stop it. On the other hand, the availability RU486 could cause support for abortions to decline, endangering the fund raising activities of both parties, and undermining public support for a woman's right to choose.

The next Senate vote to end a filibuster over "partial birth" abortions will be interesting. The number willing to invoke cloture never seems to reach 60, despite the fact that more than 60 Senators are on record as being against this procedure. I think the same thing will happen this year. If it doesn't, and the ban is passed, the Democratic Party will use it to great advantage and frighten voters.

The next Attorney General, if he actually gets the job, is going to find himself trapped. Everything he does is going to be examined under a microscope from day 1. I don't think he will last long - he is the lightning rod for all opposition.
