I am not sure I am for free trade (and of course free trade doesn't even exist). I am for whatever benefits me most. If I feel I am benefited adequately then I will think of the rest of the world. At the moment I would like to see the lower rungs of our economic ladder better protected. Of course the type of protection I want is highly unfair, but I don't care- unless the protection of our industry hurts us more than losing it completely. I am not sure it is possible to know which is worse socially and economically.
