Spike Networks Ltd. 1/29/01 - Company request for trading halt SPIKE NETWORKS LIMITED 2001-01-30 ASX-SIGNAL-G HOMEX - Sydney +++++++++++++++++++++++++ In accordance with Listing Rule 17.1, Spike Networks Limited (Spike) hereby requests a trading halt. For the purposes of the request Spike provides the following information. 1. Late on Monday, 29 January 2001 Spike signed various agreements in relation to techpacific.com Limited's investment in Spike CyberWorks Limited, the joint venture company through which Spike operates its digital services business. Signing of the agreements was conditional on all parties to the transaction agreeing on the terms of a joint announcement to the Australian and Hong Kong stock exchanges. In addition, the terms of the proposed announcement require Hong Kong regulatory authority approval. It is anticipated that agreement on the terms of the announcement will be reached some time today and that Hong Kong regulatory authority approval will also be obtained some time today. 2. Spike wishes the trading halt to last until the earlier of: (a) the release to the market of an announcement regarding the transaction referred to in paragraph 1; or (b) the commencement of trading on ASX on Wednesday, 31 January 2001. 3.
