CD,as i am ever just studying and learning---here are 4 stocks if one bought on 1/2/2001 could each have been sold EASILY,with no sweat, for a 100% return at any time in the past 2 to 4 weeks CNTR 1 to 2.75 now 1.91 VNTR 1 to 4 dollars now 2.69 AMES 1.50 to 5.00 now 4.88 and COVD 1.50 to 5 now 4.75----what did all have in common, they had been annihilated by tax-loss selling.max P.S. my view is i am only 3.5 years into my learning curve, the more i accumulate in assimilating all the in and outs of the market, the better.
90% of talking head analysts and just plain brokers have one job and one job ONLY,to sell stocks, they will tell you to buy at ANY level all the time.
A study has shown, the public on average will listen and obey as long as their portfolio is more than it's original cost---they don't panic until it is below original cost or getting damned close to it.
A panic did NOT set in in 2000,because of that, but as the time passes, their cost basis is rising,as they accumulate, and if the Market this year hits another bad speed bump and the public may hit that point where they say that's it,and all the table pounders can't stop the selling--that is what history says, anyway.
It is a suspicion, that our government, which is pretty savvy, leapt in with the 50 basis points surprise move as the technicals said "crash alert".It is all a game, but the key to the game is consumer confidence.
Now the prime pump now is that this slowing will cease by the end of 2nd quarter, and it better,or consumer confidence goes belly-up in my opinion.max

momos gathering en-masse to IRSN(Irvine Sensors)--WILL IT LAST.No question of companies legitamacy,an R&D outfit with a ton of patents(and rumors of actually converting these into actually making money),but thus far all buzz, and speculation as to why William Perry (ex-Secretary of State) and John Deutch(ex-chief if CIA),just now joined the Board of Directors of it's iNetWorks subsidiary.
Anthony jumped on board at 2.50 price level.
Check their web-site and one sees they have been super busy beavers developing MEMS,and a 3-D patented stack, called Neo-Stack---talk it is they are a year or so away from being the heart of a Super Router---but as i say, that is a year away--that's longtime.
i have no position, just trying to see if momos can really get this up and flying---has a lot of shares,i estimate 60million.max

Canuck, I do not believe is ready QLT. Look at DMX rather and VAS today, and perhaps Win.

Good luck, Nicole
