While I think the Canadian system works better than you assert (I will admit it isn't perfect, though)--and it DOES cover everyone in the country--I'll settle for an American version of universal health care. I'm no health expert, but what you describe would be far superior to what we have now, but would be "greeted" by the national health insurance companies with another fun series of "Harry and Louise" ads... I'd like Dubya better if he would propose something like this (or something similar), but I ain't holding my breath. If he surprises me, I'll more than gladly admit that I was wrong.
